Welcome to Danala, CDU’s Newest Campus in Darwin CBD

📍Location: 54 Cavenagh Street, Darwin City, NT 0800 Situated on Larrakia Country, Danala is Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) flagship city campus, designed to be a vibrant hub for education, culture, and community.

About the Name: “Danala” is the Larrakia word for dillybag, symbolizing a place to house knowledge. The name reflects CDU’s commitment to First Nations culture, language, and traditions.

Campus Highlights

Central Access: Located in the heart of Darwin’s CBD, Danala offers easy access to shops, cafes, and public transport.

Parking:

  • Two underground public carparks (entrance via Woods Street).
  • Open 6 am–6 pm weekdays, with automatic exit after hours.
  • EVs permitted, but no charging facilities available.
  • Additional parking options available nearby via Darwin City Council’s Getting Around page.

  • CDU Art Gallery
  • Multi-faith room, parents/carer room, accessible toilets
