2023 KPCA Conference website

CHAIRTY PARTNERS

Each year, through the generosity and support of our members, the KPCA conference provides an opportunity to raise funds for charitable organisations and community groups that deliver vital services to our members and the northern Australia pastoral industry.

This year, we are supporting two incredible organisations that service our region—the Royal Flying Doctors Service WA and the Kimberley School of the Air. These organizations provide vital medical assistance and education to our remote communities, and we want to rally behind them.

As part of this year’s KPCA Red Range Stock Supplements Gala Dinner and Elders Ladies Lunch we will be fundraising for these two important organisations.  There will be a silent auction and live auction at the dinner, and a raffle at the lunch. We have some incredible prizes that have been donated for this year, so dig deep and support those who support us!

Kimberley School of the Air

Kimberley School of the Air (KSOTA) is located in Derby, Western Australia and services families living in remote locations throughout the 423,517 square kilometres of the Kimberley. We are a West Australian public primary school teaching children from Kindergarten to Year 6, with a weekly playgroup. KSOTA was founded in 1960 and was originally based at Derby Airport, sharing radio services with the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

Today we are located our own purpose built site in the heart of Derby and our students attend Air lessons using WebEx which is a web platform similar to Skype and FaceTime. We currently have a Kindergarten and Pre-Primary class, a Year 1/2/3 class and a Year 4/5/6 class. In addition to attending air lessons, students receive home visits from their teachers and attend multiple camps throughout the school year.

Royal Flying Doctor Service WA

Western Australia is a vast and remote state and making sure people across the regions have access to health care and emergency, life-saving treatment is what we do at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations.

We believe that everyone, no matter where they live, deserves to have skilled and caring doctors and nurses to help them look after their health, and to treat them during emergencies while flying to specialist care.

We have a team of medical clinicians and pilots who are committed to providing the finest care to the furthest corner of WA. Together we provide fast, free and efficient emergency retrievals, GP health clinics, dentistry, telehealth and medical chests. We bring the hospital emergency room, GP clinic, dentist chair, pharmacy and our dedicated professionals to patients when they need us the most.

We do this across WA - the world’s largest health jurisdiction – through our five aeromedical bases located at Broome, Port Hedland, Meekatharra, Kalgoorlie and Jandakot. We have an integrated world class aeromedical fleet of 17 Pilatus PC-12 turbo prop aircraft, three Rio Tinto LifeFlight PC-24 jets and two Fortescue Heli-Med EC145 helicopters.
