It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Australia! The 13th WFNN Quadrennial Congress promises to be an event that connects nurses from the across the globe to share new ideas, and forge new friendships.

The WFNN congress is an international forum to present and discuss nursing research, develop nursing standards for neuroscience and learn from one another. My membership in the WFNN has shown me the value in setting aside the “way we’ve always done things” to see nursing care from a new perspective.  More than ever, I believe that to make true progress in improving the care of our patients, we must open our hearts to new ideas free of national boundaries. The WFNN congress is a platform for open dialogue that links nations to advance neuroscience nursing.

The foundation of any great congress is the program. I want to take the time to acknowledge our scientific planning committee and our hosts. They have worked diligently to deliver a scientific and social program that meets your profession needs and gives you a glimpse of the many wonders of Darwin. We have an outstanding line up of distinguished plenary speakers, scientific sessions, research sessions, poster sessions, and workshops that focus on the latest advances in neuroscience nursing.

Whether you are looking for an update on neuroscience nursing or an engaging international program filled with innovative ideas, you will find it at the WFNN congress. So enjoy the unique environment of Darwin which at it’s heart is a center of cultural diversity! Your presence here is an indication of your commitment to advancing neuroscience in your own community and globally. I look forward to seeing you in Darwin!

Best wishes,

Christi DeLemos, CNRN, MSN, ACNP-BCPresident of WFNN
